National Homemade Bread Day

My good friend, Sophie used to make bread all the time and I always envied her for it. I never understood how she had time to make the most delicious breads while also balancing work, life, etc… She told me that it was a lot easier than I thought and you ultimately got more for your money. When it comes to making dinner, especially for large groups, ‘inexpensive’ and ‘easy’ are too of my favorite words.

November 17th marks National Homemade Bread Day, and I’m going to follow Sophie’s lead and rise (no pun intended) to the challenge. What better way to impress your guests this holiday season than telling them you made your bread from scratch?

Homemade Pumpkin Bread
Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, pumpkin spice, nothing screams fall to me like some of the spices in this pumpkin bread. Enjoy it as a snack or simply an evening dessert. Simple Sandwich Bread

Cranberry Bread
I used to cook for a vegan and vegetarian restaurant, and one time we accidentally ordered an abundance of dried cranberries. When I say "abundance" I literally mean trash bags FULL of dried cranberries. We tried to incorporate them into most of our meals but eventually we had to get rid of them. The people I worked with took handfuls home, but I, on the other hand, have a fear or wasting food and therefore took an entire bag home with me. That Garlic-Cheesy Bread You've Been Dreaming Of
I'm going to apologize in advance for sharing this recipe because it does call for "drizzling butter over the crust" but hey, we all need to treat ourselves and our families, especially around this time of the year. This bread is made for sharing and although this recipe does not actually require you to "make" the bread ultimately, you make it your own by adding the cheese, garlic, etc... Gluten-Free French Bread
I, like many people these days, am convinced that I am gluten-intolerant about every other day. Clearly, based on these bread slides you have caught me on a "gluten-tolerable" day,but for those who are gluten-free or gluten-intolerant, here's a great gluten-free bread recipe.
