Sports, cars, nature, live music–this weekend the city has something for every interest! Get your game on at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s  Family Field Day, or savor some barbecue and blues tunes at Hudson River Park. Budding tennis stars will love Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Visit the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to witness the natural beauty of shorebird migration, or travel to Governors Island for the NYC Volkswagen Traffic Jam. Bird lovers will want to check out this annual Shorebird Festival, which takes places at peak shorebird migration time in the Big Apple. NYC Audubon Members and other birders will hike around the East Pond when birds are in their greatest numbers. Other great activities include an introduction to refuge issues and wildlife management, shorebird photography, more hikes, and a discussion on shorebird identification and behavior. There will be also be coffee (for the parents) and doughnuts. Suggested donation

If your little ones can’t get enough of cars, take them to see this classic VW show! The NYC Volkswagen Traffic Jam is a spectator-judged, vintage Volkswagen car show. Enjoy a picnic, a view of the New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty, as well as 100 Beetles, buses, Dune Buggies, and more. Registration is not required for spectators. This is a free event

Private games meet 1 to 2 times per week with the same group of kids.
