Tuesday, January 3
Space Oddities: Earthquakes and
Volcanoes At The NYPL Kips Bay Library

Thanks to Con Edison, the
NYPL is able to offer kiddos aged 5-12 super science programming. Today, they discuss how mountains are made and how volcanoes change the face of the
Earth.

Wednesday, January 4
Bop ‘Til You Drop At The NYPL

Noon

A dance party featuring
tunes from the ’70′s and beyond! Babes 18 months and up can grab a scarf and
boogie down with an egg-shaker.

Thursday, January 5
Children’s Storytime At The Strand
Bookstore

An alphabet storytime that
will have you going ha-ha-ha! A Strand staff
member will read from Tom Lichtenheld and Ezra Fields-Meyer’s picture book, E-Mergency.

Advanced Color Mixing
Workshop At Children’s Museum of the Arts

This one is for the older
set. Ages 7-14 will work to create the illusion of space in their masterpieces.

Friday, January 6
Holiday Train Show With
Thomas And Friends At The New York Botanical Garden

Keep the spirit of the
season alive with this fun-filled musical performance by Thomas the Tank Engine
and his gang! Just don’t forget your camera—photo ops abound.

Saturday, January 7
Bedtime Book Pajama Party At The
Scholastic Store

Celebrate the best time of
day (bedtime, of course!) with the help of our friends at the Scholastic Store.
Make printed PJ portraits and introduce your fav teddy bear during a stuffed
animal show-and-tell.

Mulchfest 2012

Still got that good ‘ol
pine taking up space in your NYC apartment? Recycle it into something
eco-friendly…wood chips! There will be 35 chipping sites set up throughout the
city today for your convenience. Bonus: you can even take home your own bag of
biodegradable mulch.

Clifford The Big Red Dog Live! At
The Brooklyn
Center

Based on Norman Bridwell’s
best-selling books, everyone’s favorite Big Red dog comes to the center stage. Ages
4 and up will be humming and swaying to the upbeat tunes all the way home.
