Curious George at Liberty Science Center

Hope everyone made it through the blizzard safely (and went sledding at least once)! This week, get out there and enjoy this wintery mix of events including a “curious” exhibit, a mad fun family day, and more.

92Y Parenting Conference
92nd Street Y

Parents are invited to join 92Y for their first annual Parenting Conference. During this two-day event, experts in an array of fields will lecture on topics like childhood anxieties, brain development in children, raising kids in a digital world, and more. Speakers include Dr. Michael Thompson, Dr. Ron Taffel, Dr. JoAnn Deak, and Dr. Susan Linn. On Tuesday morning, fathers and mothers can enjoy breakfast with several of the guest lecturers. Tickets start at $50.

Curious George: Let’s Get Curious Exhibit
Liberty Science Center
9 am-4 pm
Everyone’s favorite primate is coming to Liberty Science Center in a new exhibit! Kids ages 3 through 8 can monkey around with Curious George during activities designed to strengthen their science, math, and engineering skills. Runs through May 12. Free with museum admission.

Kids Week 2013
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
10 am-5 pm
Saturday kicks off Kids Week at the Intrepid and the weekend’s theme is “Under the Big Top”. Activities include performances by Marcin the Magician from Roving Street Magic, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Acrobalance, and balloon twisting with the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. Plus, don’t miss guided tours of the museum’s current exhibits. Come back during the week for Science Fiction Day, Broadway Day, and Sports ‘n Games weekend. Through February 24. Free with museum admission.

MAD Family Fun Day
The Museum of Arts and Design
11 am-4 pm
Head over to MAD for a family day inspired by their exhibition, The Art of Scent. Families can make their own perfume in the IFF Smell Lab and learn about the fascinating process of perfume-making. Admission is $30 per family (2 adults and up to 4 children).

Brooklyn Robot Foundry - Virtual Classes
