The 2013 Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash Was A Sunny Celebration For All

Last Wednesday afternoon in Central Park, parents and children enjoyed the newly warm weather amidst the palpable excitement of early summer at the 2013 Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash. The annual family charity event featured its usual carnival rides, face painting, arts and crafts, and snacks galore in Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink. Kids of all ages took part in the fun, which included a t-shirt decorating station and a tent offering gift bags from event sponsor Johnson and Johnson. Most attendees were dressed casually for the laid-back day in the park, and some parents joined in on the fun by going on rides with their youngest children. For those looking to eat more than just traditional carnival sweets, veggie burgers and mac and cheese fuelled empty stomachs for the afternoon’s activities. With all ticket proceeds benefitting Baby Buggy, the party was a star-studded success for a great cause.

“The main goal today is supporting Baby Buggy and being here with everyone that supports it, because it’s such a great organization that helps out so many families in a lot of different cities,” said one of the foundation’s advocates, Bridget Moynahan. This year’s attendees also included Debra Messing, Mariska Hargitay, Nigel Barker, and Molly Sims.

Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization founded in 2001, provides families in need with new and gently used essentials for infants and children up to age 12. Since its inception, the charity has donated over 6 million items to families across the country. Founder and President Jessica Seinfeld was thrilled with the turnout at this year’s Bedtime Bash, which welcomed fathers and children from one of the organization’s grantee sites, the Fathers First Program in the Rockaways, as VIP guests. “I love to see our supporters mingling with the families that we serve. That to me is the most gratifying part of today – that everyone feels like one big part of New York City and one big part of Baby Buggy,” Seinfeld noted, before adding, “And I just really love that people actually have fun.”
