Details Announced for the New York Botanical Garden’s Holiday Train Show

The most wonderful time of the year is quickly approaching, and eager locomotive lovers in and around New York City already have a special holiday event to look forward to: The New York Botanical Gardens has just announced details for the 2018 Holiday Train Show.

The 27th annual event opens to the public on Saturday, November 17 and will run through Monday, January 21, 2019. It will take place at the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx.

Visitors of the The Holiday Train Show will be taken on a journey through Lower Manhattan— the birthplace of New York City. More than 25 G-scale model trains, trolleys, and ferries will hum along nearly a half-mile of track passed more than 175 New York landmarks, each re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials. New replicas include the historic Battery Maritime Building, vintage ferry boats, the Battery Park Control House, the Woolworth Building, One World Trade Center, the Oculus, and the Terminal Warehouse. Guests will also recognize some old favorites, like the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis Island Immigration Station.

During the Holiday Train Show, The New York Botanical Garden is open Tuesday through Sunday, and Monday, December 17, 24, and January 21, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Extended hours, 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Saturdays, November 24–January 19; Friday, November 23 (day after Thanksgiving); and December 26–January 1.The Garden is closed all day on November 22 (Thanksgiving) and December 25 (Christmas); it closes at 3 p.m. on December 14 and 24 (Christmas Eve). The display will close at 2 p.m. on November 28 and December 6.

Tickets start at $23 for adults and $10 for children (ages 2–12) and differ during certain peak times and weekends. Members and children under 2 are free.

Aviator Sports Summer Day Camp

<p>Aviator Sports Summer Day Camp offers five daily rotating activities such as swimming, ice skating gymnastics, rock climbing, parkour, indoor/outdoor turf, and courts plus more in its ample 175,000 sq. ft. facility and 35-acre outdoor area. Aviator Summer Camp also offers off-site and on-site field trips such as a day at Green Meadows Farm, Launch Trampoline Park, and a Brooklyn Cyclones game. The summer camp runs from 9 am-5 pm with early drop off and late stay available. Bus transportation is also available throughout Brooklyn. Lunch and an afternoon snack are included.
