This arts and culture festival, of which New York Family is a proud media sponsor, will focus on introducing children to the world of the performing arts, featuring entertainment, workshops, and food from 10am to 3pm.

Three stages throughout the park will host a wide range of performances throughout the day. All of the entertainers are children’s performing artists that specialize in shows geared for children up to age 12. Kids can groove to tunes spun by DJs from Brunch Baby, Brunch, and jam to the ‘ three-piece band from apple seeds’ award-winning music program, songs for seeds.  New York City high school students will also be joining in the fun, performing with the Sing for Hope Youth Chorus.

In addition to great music, there will also be a variety of storytelling and theatrical performances, including the Catskill Puppet Theater’s play “Sister Rain and Brother Sun,” a musical tale focusing on how all aspects of nature work together.  The Children’s Shakespeare Theatre will also perform “The Taming of the Shrew,” featuring actors from ages 8 to 18.

The magician the Amazing Max will entertain audiences with his hypnotizing skills and comedy. The Big Apple Circus-Circus to Go will bring their high-energy stunts such as plate spinning, balancing, and contortion to the event.

In addition to the array of live performances, there will also be workshops where children and families can learn performing arts skills. The Calpulli Mexican Dance Company will share Aztec dance moves with young audiences, the Broken Box Mime Theater will teach movement storytelling skills, and the group drumming instructor Path to Rhythm will lead interactive drumming sessions.

The kids will also love face painting, costume swaps, and Big Apple Circus Costume parades. And, when you and your family need to refuel, there will be food from local vendors such as Hill Country Barbecue Market, the Melt Bakery, Burger and Lobster and Andy’s Italian ices.
