What better way to spend your warm summer nights than by enjoying a classic throwback movie in the heart of downtown Manhattan– for FREE? Join the Alliance for Downtown New York for “The Throwback Thursday Summer Film Series” every Thursday night at 8pm at Fosun Plaza. You and your family can escape the hustle and bustle of NYC with some crowd favorite films including Back to the Future, When Harry Met Sally, and The Sandlot.
The films will be projected on a 15-by-12 screen at 28 Liberty’s 1.5-acre Fosun Plaza, alongside a signature sculpture by Jean Dubuffet and a Sunken Garden by Isamu Noguchi, according to a press release.
“A fun outdoor film with a view of an iconic building and free popcorn by the bucket makes 28 Liberty Plaza the perfect place to spend a beautiful summer night with friends and family,” said Jessica Lappin, Downtown Alliance president, in a press release.
Movies will begin at 8 p.m. and will be shown every Thursday night from July 26 to the end of August.
So, get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy popcorn and your favorite films from the 80’s and the 90’s. – free of charge!

August 23: Viewer’s Choice- Vote for your favorite “throwback” film on the 28 Liberty website. The winning film will be announced August 13 and screened on the 23.
