Caribou Baby invites you to clap, sing. and dance with Greg Stare as he plays the guitar, harmonica, ukulele, and tambourine for the Rocking Chair Music Series. Get tickets early because shows often sell out.

November 10 and 11, 2012

Things That Go Bang! presents an awe-inspiring and thrilling concert by the Little Orchestra Society, which teaches children all about percussion instruments in a fun way by use of pots, pans, and paws. Be sure to check it out at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

On the second Sunday of every month, The Hip Tot Music Fest in Brooklyn features performances by family-friendly bands, arts and crafts, face painting, and giveaways. This month meet the Itty Biddies, a trio of women who will take your children on an adventure with a culmination of music and storytelling, at Shapeshifter Lab.

92YTribeca will be hosting Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could as part of the Bring Your Own Kid Concert Series. The Grammy-nominated R&B group will have you and your kids groovin’ starting at 11am.

Caribou Baby invites you to sing along with Caitlin Rodgers as she performs her folksy tunes for the Rocking Chair Music Series. Hailing from Boston but now a Brooklyn resident, Rodgers’ songs feature thoughtful lyrics.  Get tickets early because shows often sell out!

You might recognize The Pop Ups from a Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! performance or a Washington Market Park summer concert. But if their name doesn’t ring a bell, be sure to catch them at their last show of this season. This full Radio Jungle Performance will entice you with good music catered to kids ages three and up.

For a unique experience combining animation and music, check out Gustafer Yellowgold’s Holiday Show at Symphony Space. The creative and catchy fun begins at 11am!

Suzi Shelton proves her ability to relate to kids with catchy lyrics and beats that will have them dancing in an animated world of their own. Bring your kids to hear the Suzi Shelton Band family concert at 92YTribeca, where children under two are free.

Join Baby Loves Disco at Le Poisson Rouge from 12 to 3pm and bring those dancing shoes. Get ready to dance to tunes from the ‘70s and ‘80s, and enjoy an afternoon of family fun. Though it’s certainly an alternative to the routine play date, this is not just an event for your children. Parents are invited to socialize with other parents, mingle, dance, eat, and drink, (virgin margaritas anyone?).

If your hip to the ’80s, but not so much the ’70s, then visit Broad Street Ballroom for Little Club Heads ‘80s Party instead! Come for a fun dance party experience for you and your children, one to ten years old, from 12 to 3pm.

Celebrate the season with the Church Street School for Music and Art at Washington Market Park from 2 to 3pm. Meet and greet with Santa, and sing with the carolers from Trinity Youth Chorus. They will be collecting unwrapped items to send to “Toys for Tots.” Rain date: December 9.

Celebrate the new release of “Christmas in Concord,” with Dan Zanes and Friends at their Second Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long at City Winery. The traditional sing-a-long and dance party will commence at 11 am and feature surprise special guests.

If you missed The Suzi Shelton Band in November, have no fear–she ‘s back! The Suzi Shelton Band is hosting their Fourth Annual Rockin’ Holiday Party with very Special Guest, Amelia Robinson from Mil’s Trills at The Bell House in Brooklyn starting at 11am. Great for families with children under ten. Plus proceeds from the event will go to Global Family Philanthropy in support of orphaned and abandoned children.

If you had an amazing time last month at the Little Club Heads party, join the Little Club Heads again from 12 to 3pm at Broad Street Ballroom for their Holiday Party. Be prepared to dance!

Danish musician Vibe Normann invites kids to dance, sing, and imagine during her Scandinavian Sing-Along at 1pm at (where else?) Scandinavia House. If you can’t make it, Vibe’s sing-alongs will be held each Saturday thereafter until January 19.

Treehouse Shakers

<div>Treehouse Shakers’ Branching OUT After-School program is for ages 12-14. This awarded program is for young people who identify as LGBTQIA+, or are seeking to become better allies. Branching OUT centers on discovering and exploring one’s story and identity through an intentionally artist-led format. During our community-based program, young people will explore and reflect on their own story to create a larger, more meaningful experience, while gaining self-empowerment and gathering with like-minded peers. Through the guidance of our awarded teaching artists, young people will create narratives that will be turned into podcasts, dances, songs or poetry. </div> <div> </div> <div>Young people have the opportunity to learn new art forms, work with professional artists, while building a meaningful community.</div>

The Music Institute of Long Island

<p dir="ltr">Established in 1990, the Music Institute of Long Island (MILI) is a classical music school staffed by exceptional instructors from many of the most prestigious conservatories and graduate music schools in the United States and Europe. Long Island’s foremost musical academies, its instrumental programs include violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone and voice classes. MILI has been voted # 1 BEST MUSIC SCHOOL Consistently. </p> <p dir="ltr">They teach the Traditional, Suzuki, and ABRSM methods. Students participate in All-National, All-Eastern, All-State, youth orchestras, and score highly in NYSSMA and Royal Academy Music Festivals.
