Dog days of summer enriched with Play Streets

Children have a safe place to play sidewalk games, do arts and crafts, and learn to jump Double Dutch rope this summer, thanks to the Police Athletic League.

The “Play Streets” are conducted in various parks around the borough, and they offer children workshops, Nok Hockey, hopscotch, and cultural arts.

Workshops are free and open now till Aug. 23, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.

Participating locations include University Family Shelter, Parque De Los Ninos Park, Space Time Playground, and Mullaly Park.

Steps on Broadway Youth Programs

<p class="m_6201101365486487057m_1751229968981391907gmail-m-6447730382188674378msonospacing" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; background-color: #ffffff;">For 40 years, the Youth Programs at the internationally celebrated Steps on Broadway have nurtured young dancers, ages 18 months to 18 years.&nbsp; Whether seeking a fun dance experience or comprehensive pre-professional training, there is a program suited for everyone.&nbsp; Classes include ballet, tap, jazz, theater dance, hip hop, contemporary, modern, pointe and more.&nbsp; Taught by a faculty of internationally-recognized concert, ballet, Broadway and celebrated guest artists, every student is encouraged to discover their artistic uniqueness, deepen their passion for the art form, while growing as dancers and individuals.&nbsp; Classes are offered throughout the academic year and summer. BAMkids presents adventurous art and ideas for young audiences, igniting the imaginations of creative kids ages 3&mdash;11 with a fun and engaging lineup of workshops, movie matinees, and live performances from around the world.
