    By Stacey Gawronski

When your little one is tucked away in his or her nursery sleeping soundly, you still want to keep tabs. Today’s ultra-modern baby monitors provide high-tech features that keep your baby safe and secure. From LED lights that indicate movement, temperature sensors to let you know when your baby might be too warm or catching a little chill, live video streaming, and subtle automatic night lights, the current baby monitors on the market have you covered when you’re in the next room. We’ve rounded up the ten best so that you–and your baby–can rest peacefully.

    • Samsung SEW 3035WN: Security and safety for your baby and convenient for you, this top-of-the-line model is capable of recording even at night. Parents and grandparents can watch live videos of baby (unit is expandable up to four cameras); plus, videos can be stored in built-in micro SD card. $179.99, amazon.com

    • iBaby Monitor M2: Apple’s updated iBaby has some awesome new features. This innovative device will automatically snap a photo of your baby when movement is detected. (Snap shots can be sent directly to your iOS device.) iBaby is easy to set up and relies on two-way audio for communication with your baby (no external speaker). $149.95, apple.com

    • Fisher-Price Sounds ‘N Lights: With lights that let you “see” different movements from your baby, this monitor from the trustworthy Fisher-Price company is a wonderfully affordable option. It can be powered by battery or AC, so it adapts to your needs, and it also has a convenient night light built into it. $22.99, amazon.com

    • Angelcare AC401 Deluxe Plus: The upgraded Angelcare monitor gives you an added layer of security with its two under-the-mattress sensor pads (an alarm will sound if your baby doesn't move for twenty seconds) along with the traditional parental monitors. Its full color display indicates nursery temperature and sound lights. If you’re a new parent, you might appreciate the unit’s audio “tic” feature, which makes a ticking sound when your baby is sleeping to reassure that it’s on and working even during those quiet moments. $169.99, amazon.com

    • Snuza Hero: This movement monitor, which attaches snugly to your baby’s diaper, will begin gently vibrating if no movement is detected from your baby for 15 seconds. It’s easy to use, comes with a “rouse warning” feature, and will sound an alarm after twenty seconds if still no movement is detected. $99.95, amazon.com

    • Graco Ultra Clear: The well-priced and fully functional Graco baby monitor comes with two parent units for added security. This system’s vibration technology allows you to hear your baby’s call. Ambient night light, super clear sound, and adjustable channel settings make the Ultra Clear an excellent and affordable choice. $39.99, graco.com

    • Dropcam HD Wi-Fi Wireless Video Monitoring Camera: A fantastic camera baby monitoring system, this device provides high quality video with night vision and zoom.
