Canstruction at Brookfield Place
Canstruction is back in New York! The annual charity competition has architects, engineers, contractors, and students design and build huge structures comprised completely of unopened cans of food. The goal is to raise public awareness about world hunger while highlighting the participants’ creativity. After the competition ends, all of the canned food is donated to City Harvest. Plus throughout the competition’s run, chef instructors from the Institute of Culinary Education will present tastings and demo delicious recipes using canned ingredients. "White" At The New 42nd Street Studios
The Drama Desk Award-nominated show“White” last played at the New Victory Theater during a sold-out run in 2011, and it’s making its return this week! Though the show is created for very young audiences, it has stunning visuals and a witty script that is sure to entertain adults as well. In an achromatic world, Cotton and Wrinkle work to hide color. But their world is turned upside down when colors start randomly appearing. (Through November 22) -
Frank Stella Family Day at the Whitney Museum
Head to the Whitney this weekend for Frank Stella Family Day. This all-ages event, located in the museum’s Laurie M. Tisch Education Center, will celebrate minimalist artist Frank Stella’s work. Families will get to work with artist McKendree Key to build a mega-sized marble run inspired by Stella’s colorful geometric shapes. "The American Revolution" at the Clark Studio Theater
