"Cuba Vibra!" at the New Victory Theater
Ages 6 and up will want to dance on over to the New Victory Theater starting this weekend to see the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company perform during “Cuba Vibra!” The group’s 18 dancers will bring their mix of rumba, salsa, ballet, flamenco, cha-cha, bolero, and conga steps to NYC in a vibrant, limited-run engagement. A live big-band will accompany the performers with Afro-Cuban music dating from the ’50s to the present. (Opens Friday) -
"Star Wars and the Power of Costume" Exhibition at Discovery Times Square
Can’t wait for the new “Star Wars” movie? Head to Discovery Times Square starting on Saturday to see the “Star Wars and the Power of Costume” exhibit, which explores how the films’ costumes play an integral role in the creation of the galaxy and its many characters. Visitors of all ages will get to explore an array of 70 costumes from the first six films, including C-3PO’s metallic suit, Queen Amidala’s gowns, and Princess Leia’s infamous bikini. Additionally, exhibit-goers will get to see seven brand-new costumes that will be featured in the upcoming movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” (Opens Saturday) -

Disney on Ice is celebrating its centennial with all of your favorite characters at “Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic.” The cast of more than 50 skaters includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Snow White, and Tiana. There is a special story with the characters of “Frozen” where Anna, Elsa, and Olaf discover that true love is the greatest magic of all. Gingerbread Lane at the New York Hall of Science
Gingerbread Lane, the incredible, entirely edible village of gingerbread houses, will return to the New York Hall of Science this Saturday for the duration of the holiday season! Entirely planned, built, and crafted by chef Jon Lovitch, his 2013 and 2014 villages won the Guinness World Record for “largest gingerbread village.” Check out this year’s tasty creations, which will cover 500 square feet and feature more than 1,050 edible houses.
