PS 116: Murray Hill Market, the first of its kind in the neighborhood, features antiques, crafts, jewelry, collectibles and used book dealers as well as farm fresh produce and pickle barrels. Vendors will be in the schoolyard, rain or shine. Admission is free to all and proceeds from table rentals are allocated for the students at PS116. Details: Every Sunday 9am-3pm, East 32nd Street between 2nd and 3rd Aves (Entrance through PS116 School Yard).

PS 11: The school is hosting a Fall Festival and a Craft Fair. The Fall Festival features food, games, bouncy castles, face painting, a bake sale, arts and crafts, a petting zoo and more. The craft fair, dubbed “Crafts in Chelsea” and sponsored by the New New York Etsy team, features over 60 of the best local NYC artisans selling jewelry, pottery, glass, wood, clothing, and fine art. Details: Saturday, October 17. Fall Festival: 11am-4pm; Craft Fair: 10am-5pm. PS11, 320 West 21st Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). *Admission to Fall Festival is free to PS11 students with wristbands; all other children pay $10 for all-day access (adults are free).

Manhattan Country School: The “farm festival” street fair takes up an entire block with ethnic foods and baked goods, hayrides, games, music, an auction and more. Details: 11am-4pm, 7 East 96th Street.

The School at Columbia University: At the Rock the Block street fair, families can enjoy food, games, rides, a book sale, a children’s tag sale, math puzzles, a discovery science exhibit–even a blitz chess tournament! Details: 11am-4pm, West 109th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive.

PS 166: Hosting its annual fall festival, “Big Green Halloween,” featuring eco-friendly activities. Meet green vendors, learn about composting, enjoy organic food, and more. Plus, kids can enjoy old-fashioned carnival-style entertainment including a contortionist, rides, a cake walk, a costume contest, a very scary Haunted House. The band The Mighty Weaklings from TV’s Noggin will perform a free show at 3:30pm outside. Details: Saturday, October 24th from 11am to 5pm on West 89th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues (rain date October 25th).

P.S. 158: The school’s “Octoberfest” celebration will include a haunted house, inflatable rides, a pumpkin patch, a cake walk, pony rides, games, food from Big Daddy’s Diner, face painting, a costume parade and more. Details: Saturday, October 24th from 12n-4pm (rain date Oct. 25); 77th Street and Cherokee Place.

The John Pizarelli Quartet performs a family-friendly concert to benefit PS 334, The Anderson School. Details: 1/31, 3pm (doors open at 2:30), $15 in advance; $20 at the door. 100 West 77th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues.
