In celebration of February as Black History Month, the College of Staten Island is hosting an African puppet-making workshop.
Artist and anthropologist Vickie Fremont will delight audiences with easy-to-follow tutorials on how to turn everyday junk into one-of-a-kind puppets. Participants in this cross-cultural art event will also learn about the history and society of the people who first created these wondrous dolls.
