Celebrate the richness of our world’s cultures for a good cause. Join PS 198 and PS 77 for an International Night to remember this Thursday, January 22. Starting at 6pm, tour the world in the cafeteria, where you will be able to sample delicious foods from around the world, experience crafts and games, and shop for hand-crafted and novelty items from around the world.
The kids will love making crafts such as French Matisse artwork, Korean paper lanterns, or Mexican banderas; playing dress-up with an Indian bindi, sari, and henna tattoo; or learning how to write their names in Arabic calligraphy.
Live performances in the auditorium will include an Indian Bollywood dance, Korean folk music, Irish folk dancing, Indonesian plate dance, Brazilian jiu jitsu demonstrations, Argentinean Tango, and a dramatic Lion dance to get you ready for Chinese New Year!
All proceeds will support both schools’ PTAs.
International Night will take place from 6-8:30pm at PS 198 / PS 77 Lower Lab Schools, at 1700 Third Avenue (enter between East 95th and East 96th Streets.) Admission is $12, and tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, please email pta@ps198.org
