Piper Theatre Productions is presenting great summer plays on July 24, 25, and 26, with students and staff staging some of the most exciting youth theater in the city.
The group is in da house, at the Old Stone House, and takes advantage of the historic facility’s beautiful grounds, using them for backdrops and scenes to bring the classics alive for kids and adults.
“The Neverending Story” on July 24 at 7 pm tells the tale of a boy who discovers a magical world.
“Haroun and the Sea Stories” is presented on July 25 at 7 pm, and is based on the story by Salman Rushdie, in which Haroun must venture to the mythical land of Kahani and recapture the stories of his youth.
“Hansel and Gretel and the Candy Haus” ends the series on July 26 at 7 pm, reinventing the story of Gretel, who steals the last few coins from her family to buy a ribbon, setting off a chain of events that leads to werewolves, giants, and a dangerous house in the woods.
All performances are free.
