Looks like the cold weather is here to stay (insert loud jeering sounds here). This week we’ve picked out a few indoor events that will keep you and your family nice and warm during the frigid days to come.

Friday, November 16

The Velveteen Rabbit

The beloved children’s story, The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams, is brought to the stage in this production from Theatreworks USA. Perfect for ages 4 through 8, The Velveteen Rabbit tells the tale of a stuffed rabbit’s mission to become a living animal. Tickets are $39. Runs weekends through January 27.

Saturday, November 17

American Museum of Natural History
10 am-5:45 pm
Take a tasty look back on the way in which our society has cultivated and used food throughout the years during this special exhibit at AMNH. Museum visitors will also learn about food-related health and environmental issues that our nation currently faces. Free with museum admission. Runs through August 11.

Sunday, November 18

Baby Got Bach
92Y
3 pm
This interactive concert series led by pianist Orli Shaham, introduces children ages 3 through 6 to the world of classical music and its instruments. Kids will make their own musical instruments, participate in a singalong, and enjoy a concert from Shaham and the 92Y School of Music. Tickets start at $18.
