If you’re looking for some wheels to carry you on your next outdoor adventure, check out these places that rent bikes for the whole family. All of these businesses rent kids and adult bikes, and most also offer child seats, trailers and tag-a-longs. If you’re interested in electric bikes, note that riders need to be at least fourteen years old. It’s best to make reservations ahead of time where possible.

What you need to know: With twelve locations near popular parks and paths throughout Manhattan, you can rent a bike right where you’re planning on riding. What you need to know: Located in the West Village alongside the bike path of the Hudson River Greenway, the Waterfront Bicycle Shop offers economical rentals on a walk-in only, first-come-first-serve basis. Each rental includes a lock, helmet, basket, and map.

What you need to know: Just south of Central Park, you can rent Fancy Apple’s signature orange-tired bikes for up to a week. There is a 50% discount for booking online. Baby seats, trailers, and tag-a-longs are available to transport your littlest ones. Fancy Apple also rents electric bikes and electric scooters. What you need to know: Cycle Central Park is located on the southeastern end of Central Park. There is a 50% discount for booking online. Child seats, trailers, and tag-a-longs are available, as are tandem bikes, electric bikes and rollerblades. You can also book a pedi-cab tour.
