New York Theatre Ballet presents Keith Michael’s ‘The Nutcracker’ for children

Luminous owls, mice dressed in polka dots, and Tchaikovsky’s beloved score come to the Florence Gould Hall in Keith Michael’s “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 10 and 11.

The New York Theatre Ballet will perform this version of the holiday classic. From clockwork imps to a luminous owl that flies above the audience, mice dressed in polka dots and dancers dancing with huge chopsticks, this timeless re-imagined classic bursts with energy and excitement. The ballet is danced to Tchaikovsky’s beloved score and set in Art Nouveau style, circa 1907. The one-hour ballet is perfect for children ages 3 and up.

Keith Michael’s “The Nutcracker,” Dec. 10 and 11; performances are at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3:30 pm. Tickets are $34 for adults and $24 for children 12 and under.
