May is filled with great Long Island carnivals, festivals and fairs!

May brings a full calendar of carnivals, festivals, and fairs across Long Island. All month long, there are plenty of opportunities for families to get outside and enjoy the fun. We’ve rounded up some of the best ones coming up!

Nassau County

Annual Seaford Spring Fling

Seaford Train Station, Sunrise Highway and Jackson Ave., Seaford

There will be something for everyone at this annual event featuring live music, local food trucks, an expansive craft mall, and an exciting Kids Funzone!

SpringFest 2025

Mid-Island Y JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview
Sunday, May 4, 10 am – 5 pm

Spend the day with food trucks, live entertainment, a free Kids Funzone featuring a giant rock wall, No-Limit Ninja Obstacle Course, and New York Islanders Slapshot Booth! Plus, Pickleball, Gaga Pit and giant craft fair. 

 

Arts Below Sunrise Music & S.T.E.A.M. Festival

Festival is held along Broadway in Hewlett and Woodmere

This community-wide event features S.T.E.A.M. activities, live music, artists, dancers, demonstrations, craft and food vendors and an overall festive atmosphere for all ages. In addition, There will be contests and prizes!

 

Family Fun Car Show

Check out the Spring Dust Off Car Show, Long Island’s largest and most exciting car show! See classic cruisers, muscle machines, custom creations, vintage beauties, and high-powered imports.  But this isn’t just a car show—it’s a full-throttle festival! Enjoy live music, celebrity appearances, movie cars, BBQ, a Beer Garden, a Touch-A-Truck experience for the kids, and so much more!

 

Cradle-Con: A Comic, Collectible and Pop Culture Con

Cradle of Aviation Museum, Charles Lindbergh Blvd., Garden City

$12-$40 in advance; $15-$45 at the door

Cradle-Con is Long Island’s non-profit comic, collectible, and pop culture convention, built by fans for fans. This is an opportunity for comic readers to meet and greet local comic book creators, for collectors on the hunt for rare books and toys to shop some of the best vendors, for cosplayers to gather and celebrate their favorite fandoms, and for retro gamers to get their game on! This spectacular yet intimate experience allows fans of all ages to gather, socialize, and be passionate about what they love. 

 

Arts in the Plaza

Suffolk County

Lindenhurst Springfest Street Fair

Village of Lindenhurst, 277 Pinelawn Road, Melville

The Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce, The Inc. Village of Lindenhurst, and The Lindenhurst Knights of Columbus present the Springfest Street Fair. There will be vendors, live music, drinks, and fun for all.

Bald Hill Fair

May 8-18, Weekdays, 5 – 11 pm, Saturdays, 12 – 11 pm, Sundays, 12 – 10 pm
Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Hill, 1 Ski Run Lane, Farmingville

$5 admission; free for kids under 36″ tall. Ride cost varies. 

This family-fun annual event features a variety of live entertainment, spectacular fireworks by Grucci both Saturday nights, exciting rides for all ages (including a towering 110′-tall Ferris wheel), and plenty of tasty carnival eats. Free with admission: Victoria Circus high-wire, aerial and motorcycle thrill shows, Big Bee Transforming Robot Car, the action-packed Escape Explosion show, and the World of Wonders Amazement Show featuring 10 old-time sideshow acts under the big top including a sword swallower and a fire eater, plus over 30 bizarre exhibits in the fascinating Museum of Marvels. 

Fleece & Fiber Festival

The annual Fleece & Fiber Festival features artisans sharing handmade items for sale as well as shearing, spinning and weaving demonstrations and special fiber-focused tours of the Hallock Homestead. This year they will be offering weaving, crochet and knitting workshops, music and more! Children’s activities, too!

Huntington YMCA Memorial Day Weekend Carnival
