Where has March gone?! Friday brings a new month and a new batch of family events for all. It’ll be a starry, starry weekend at the New Victory Theater during “The Star Keeper.” On Saturday, Portland’s Aaron Nigel Smith will liven up Lincoln Center and young spring breakers can party in Bryant Park. In the mood for a live-action Disney show? Check out the Theater at Madison Square Garden to see Mickey and friends. Finally, celebrate the centennial birthday of an iconic author at Symphony Space on Sunday. Have a great week!

“The Star Keeper”

Canada’s Théâtre de l’Œil will present its production of “The Star Keeper” this weekend at the New Victory Theater. Ages 6 and up will be starstruck by the tale of Pretzel, an honorable worm who goes on a journey to restore a fallen star to the night sky. This 55-minute performance features whimsical puppets and a stellar musical score! Tickets start at $15.

Aaron Nigel Smith of the hit PBS Kids show “Between the Lions” is coming to Lincoln Center this Saturday! A long-time supporter of the cultural arts, Smith has founded the FUNdamentals of Music and Movement program which is dedicated to bringing the arts here in the US to early education centers for the underprivileged, as well as the One World Chorus which provides choral singing programs to children around the world. During his energetic concerts, the award-winning singer combines reggae, rock, and world music to produce a unique sound that will please families with children ages 3 to 6. This event is free.

Spring Break at Le Carrousel
Bryant Park

Join Bryant Park for Spring Break at Le Carrousel! All ages can enjoy face painting, balloon art, a puppet show, arts and crafts, an appearance by CaliCo Cat, and more. Plus, be sure to go for a ride on the park’s iconic merry-go-round. This event is free; carousel rides are $3. The rain date for this event is Sunday, April 3.

Disney Live!: “Mickey and Minnie’s Doorway to Magic”

Join Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy as 25 of your favorite Disney characters delight and surprise in this Disney Live! production. Watch as the gang from Toy Story will try to defy the dimensions of Andy’s toy box. Enjoy special appearances by favorite characters such as Snow White, Aladdin’s Genie, and Tinker Bell. You never know who will turn up next! Tickets start at $55.

Thalia Kids’ Book Club: A Celebration of Beverly Cleary

Honor the life and work of a beloved children’s author on the occasion of her 100th birthday at the Thalia Kids’ Book Club’s Celebration of Beverly Cleary at Symphony Space! Actors and authors, including Jarrett Krosoczka (of the “Lunch Lady” series) and Michael Urie (of TV’s Ugly Betty fame), will pay tribute to Cleary’s work, which includes the “Ramona Quimby” series and The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Recommended for ages 8-12. Tickets are $15. Please note: Beverly Cleary will not be in attendance at this event.

Programs are tailored to encompass students at all levels, from those just beginning their acting journey to Broadway veterans and professional child actors. Young Actors at Strasberg alumni include Lady Gaga, Sophia Lillis, Angelina Jolie, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Rosario Dawson!</p> <p>Young Actors Programs are available online and in-person at our New York Campus, located in Union Square.
