Happy Monday! On our events agenda this week are three larger-than-life live shows, a vast gingerbread village, and a costume exhibit that will awaken the Force  within all. Have a fantastic week!

Tuesday, November 10-Sunday, November 15

Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Disney on Ice is celebrating its centennial with all of your favorite characters during “Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic.” The cast of more than 50 skaters includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Snow White, and Tiana. There is a special story with the characters of “Frozen” during which Anna, Elsa, and Olaf discover that true love is the greatest magic of all. Plus, all ages can sing along to over 30 of Disney’s most iconic songs such as “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Tickets start at $15.

Beginning Friday, November 13

“Cuba Vibra!”
New Victory Theater

Ages 6 and up will want to dance on over to the New Victory Theater starting this weekend to see the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company perform during “Cuba Vibra!” The group’s 18 dancers will bring their mix of rhumba, salsa, ballet, flamenco, cha-cha, bolero, and conga steps to NYC in a vibrant, limited-run engagement. A live big-band will accompany the performers with Afro-Cuban music dating from the ’50s to the present. Tickets start at $15. Runs weekends through Sunday, November 29.

Beginning Saturday, November 14

Gingerbread Lane
New York Hall of Science

Gingerbread Lane, the incredible, entirely edible village of gingerbread houses, will return to the New York Hall of Science this Saturday for the duration of the holiday season! Entirely planned, built, and crafted by chef Jon Lovitch, his 2013 and 2014 villages won the Guinness World Record for “largest gingerbread village.” Check out this year’s tasty creations, which will cover 500 square feet and feature more than 1,050 edible houses. Free with hall admission. Runs through Saturday, January 9, 2016.

“Star Wars and the Power of Costume” Exhibition
Discovery Times Square

Can’t wait for the new “Star Wars” movie? Head to Discovery Times Square starting on Saturday to see the “Star Wars and the Power of Costume” exhibit, which explores how the films’ costumes play an integral role in the creation of the galaxy and its many characters. Visitors of all ages will get to explore an array of 70 costumes from the first six films, including C-3PO’s metallic suit, Queen Amidala’s gowns, and Princess Leia’s infamous bikini. Additionally, exhibit-goers will get to see seven brand-new costumes that will be featured in the upcoming movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Tickets start at $20. Runs through Monday, February 29, 2016.

Saturday, November 14

“Alvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage!”
Kings Theatre

The touring, interactive “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage!” show is making a stop in Brooklyn. Filled with music and excitement for all ages, the show features the Chipmunks and Chipettes based on the characters from the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” franchise. These lovable and beloved critters will sing hits by artists like One Direction, Maroon 5, Carly Rae Jepsen, Elvis Presley, and more! The show follows Alvin and Co. as they plan a big charity concert to save the site of the Woodstock music festival. During this show, produced by the team behind the hit live-stage show “Yo Gabba Gabba,” audiences will follow the gang as they sing and dance across America. Tickets start at $25. Doors open at 1:30pm.

Eat Up: Elevating Kids’ Nutrition

Join Just Food this Sunday, November 15, for their “Eat Up: Elevating Kids’ Nutrition” benefit! This afternoon of foodie fun for the whole family includes “snacktivities” such as an Edible Lesson on Pollination with Red Rabbit, a “Junk Food Makeover” and desserts by Tricia Williams and Food Matters, a farm stand photobooth, and more! Attendees will learn how to make healthy, delicious dishes, and exchange ideas for raising healthy lifelong eaters.
