Children help create the world of ‘Hanna and the Moonlit Dress’

Children learn the power of good deeds in “Hanna and the Moonlit Dress” at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, now through Feb. 11.

The fun interactive musical is based on the Izhak Scheiger-Dmi’el book.

Young Hanna’le just wanted to help the coal miner carry his heavy sack from the forest, but now — oh, no! Her new white dress is stained with black spots! How can Hanna go to dinner now? Won’t Mama be upset? Perhaps the moon will come to Hanna’s rescue with its magical light.

Join Hanna and her friends — including Edna the cow, Zuzzi the dog, the coal man, and the moon — in this interactive musical theater experience for children ages 2 to 8.

Children will help create the world of the play by crafting paper masks, costumes, and set pieces with the actors. There is a 15-minute workshop and a 40-minute performance with no intermission.

“Hanna and the Moonlit Dress,” now through Feb. 11. Saturday and Sunday 11 am and 1 pm. Tickets $40.
