“Unseen Beauty” is at the Kumble Theater at Long Island University on July 22.
The Bangladeshi Institute of Performing Arts presents a two-segment production highlighting Bangladeshi culture. The first segment of the production brings together a collection of Bengali songs covering a multitude of genres from traditional Rabindranath and Nazrul compositions to folk, modern, and other styles, featuring Selima Ashraf and Nilofar Jahan. The second segment, a dance drama, “Unseen Beauty of Bangladesh,” is a story of a young Bangladeshi-American girl anticipating her first visit to Bangladesh. The dance drama takes her through the world of imagination bringing to life the various regional cultures of Bangladesh.
“Unseeen Beauty,” July 22, at 6 to 9 pm. Tickets are $10; $5 for seniors and students.
