What a ‘Beauty’

A classic comes to life this month.

On May 22, the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts does “Beauty and the Beast,” presented by the American Family Theater.

Imprisoned by a monstrous Beast, a young girl learns that outward appearances can be deceiving and, with a magic kiss, frees the Beast from his curse.

The show is recommended for ages 4 and up — and, in case you have any fans Disney, just be forewarned that this isn’t a version of that film. So no singing clocks and teacups.

Play On! Studios offers theater day camps and after-school classes on the UWS that are guaranteed to give kids a summer full of acting, music, and fun they won't soon forget! Campers will stretch their skills with drama exercises and games, vocal coaching, field trips, and building a professional set. Our incredible teaching artists and campers come together to put on a truly remarkable show! During the school year, classes are great for beginners or more experienced actors - sing, dance, and put on a play!
