Go Fish! With Dan Zanes & Friends In Wagner Park
Gather in Wagner Park this Saturday for a fishing festival! All ages are welcome to participate in catch-and-release fishing sessions led by master anglers. Visitors can learn about the Hudson River’s marine life and catch their own fish using barbless hooks. The day’s festivities will also include an arts and crafts workshop, a bird-watching class, and a special performance by the great Dan Zanes & Friends. Brooklyn Antiquarian Book Fair At Brooklyn Expo Center
Bookworms and antique collectors of all ages will enjoy the Brooklyn Antiquarian Book Fair, the largest regional antiquarian book fair held at the Brooklyn Expo Center. The fourth annual book fair will feature over 100 rare and vintage books, photos, autographs, fine art, prints, manuscripts, and dealers from all over the world. Kids will especially enjoy a new exhibition at the book fair called “The Magical World of Maurice Sendak,” a gallery-exhibition featuring children’s book author and artist Maurice Sendak. This exhibit highlights Sendak’s work from his 50 year career in the children’s book industry. The gallery features original drawings, watercolors, vintage posters, signed prints, and etchings by Sendak himself. Visitors also get a chance to see Sendak’s debut of his “Moo-Reese” a statue covered in various images of his famous picture book Where the Wild Things Are. Photo: wired.com

Maybe your tween or teen is still a bit isolated and craves connection with their peers?
