Perhaps you’re one of the eight billion parents with
children ages 3 to 5 who read the New York Times recent article, “Fast-Tracking
To Kindergarten?”,
and wondered whether you should use a tutoring center like Kumon—or an
individual tutor—to nurture your young child’s basic academics and
learning skills. — Oddly, the Times article didn’t even
mention the big local twist: whether tutoring helps young children do better
than they might otherwise on the IQ tests used for admissions to the city’s
public school Gifted & Talented (G & T) programs and to local private
schools.
We have written about this issue (see “The Sooner The Smarter”), and next Tuesday, May 24 (6 pm)
we’re offering a very special seminar on the
topic, with an emphasis on “discovering natural and playful ways you can
positively influence your child’s intellectual capabilities, testing
performance, and elementary school success.” Click here for more
