We love the Scholastic Storybook Treasures, which are DVD sets of beloved stories, featuring gorgeous illustrations and narration by some famous names in the entertainment world (like Cyndi Lauper and James Earl Jones, to name a few!) This month, we especially like two very special DVDS: "Lincoln And Douglas: An American Friendship…And more Stories To Celebrate U.S. History," and "Duke Ellington…And More Stories To Celebrate Great Figures In African American History." Both DVDs pack an all-star line up of narrators (like Danny Glover, Samuel L. Jackson, Forest Whitaker and more) and are sure to get children interested in history, just in time for Black History Month and Presidents’ Week. —
And guess what? We’re giving away three sets of both DVDs to three reader families. To win, simply write to us at newyorkfamily@manhattanmedia.com putting "February DVDs" in the subject line and telling us why your child would love to have these DVDs.
To multiply your
chances to win, help us spread the word about New York Family magazine
(we appreciate that) by either inviting a parent friend to sign up for our
weekly e-newsletter at www.newyorkfamily.com, or by inviting
a parent friend to join us on our Facebook Fan Page. It’s easy, just
use the "Share" button function at the lower left of the page to invite some parent friends to the fan page.
Then when you write us, let us know that you’ve either share a good word about
us now, or in the past, either way fine. Even if it’s just to one parent friend,
we appreciate it.
Contest closes on Monday, February 14th, at noon. Good luck!
