This list includes malls and outlets that offer lots of online deals and discounts to see in advance of your trip, personal shopping and concierge services, food courts and restaurants when you need to take a break and refresh, and more. Each destination has stores that sell clothes and accessories for kids of all ages. (But don’t forget to pick up a little something for yourself, too!)

Located in the epicenter of Downtown Brooklyn, this shopping center features such stores as Old Navy, Marshalls, Burlington, Target, and Uniqlo. And if your kids need a break from back-to-school shopping, stop at one of the many restaurants, including Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebee’s, and Subway, then treat them to a custom cone from Cold Stone Creamery.
2. Kings Plaza
Send the kids back to school in style with a trip to Kings Plaza for all their fall and winter clothes. This famous Brooklyn mall has many kids’ clothing shops, including The Children’s Place, Abercrombie Kids, and Kids Foot Locker. Swing by Best Buy for any back-to-school technology needs. Do some pre-shopping research by visiting the mall’s website, where you can get information about current sales happening at individual stores. Kids who need a break from the shopping experience can refresh at kiddie rides located near the mall’s two main escalators: Level 1 Flatbush Avenue entrance and the Avenue U entrance.

Brookfield Place is a shopping center and office building complex in lower Manhattan. It is home to many clothing stores for men, women, and children, including J. Crew and Monica and Andy, both of which carry children’s lines.
Choose from a variety of department stores to do your fall and back-to-school shopping. Target, Burlington, and Costco are just a few of the major retailers that can be found in this East Side shopping center.
Hudson Yards is home to more than 100 shops and dining establishments but visitors to this popular Manhattan destination can take in more than a shopping experience. The venue features The Shed, a new center for artistic invention that commissions and presents work by artists across a variety of disciplines. When it’s time to get back to shopping, Hudson Yards has many children’s clothing stores, including Camp, which has a cafe, an interactive space for play, and theater activities and programming. Other children’s stores on-site include Kenzo and H&M.
Recognize the end of summer with a trip to Rockefeller Center. Bring the kids to have some fun (and maybe pick out a fun toy) at some of the center’s stores for kids, such as FAO Schwarz, LEGO, Nintendo NY, Posman Books, PIQ, and more. Located south of Central Park, the Shops at Columbus Circle is an upscale shopping mall that is home to more than 50 retail shops and boutiques, including Camp, Tortoise, H&M and others that carry clothing for everyone in the family. The four-level Empire Outlets are located within walking distance from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in St. George. With a picture-perfect view of lower Manhattan, the outlets have a variety of brand-name stores.
The Staten Island Mall, which underwent major renovations in recent years, is a destination for locals but people come from all over the metro area to shop here. The mall features more than 200 stores, including Carter’s, Primark, and Ultimate Fashions, all of which carry children’s sizes. 3. Ridge Hill
Ridge Hill is a classic multi-level and one-stop shop for kids’ back-to-school needs, including clothing, electronics, and other supplies. Stores include Dick’s Sporting Goods, L.L. Bean, GAP, and Apple. There are many family entertainment options, too, including a trampoline park, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester, and, set to open in October, a movie theater.
Centrally located near the communities of Chappaqua, Scarsdale, Bedford, and Rye, The Westchester features 140 luxury stores including Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus. Located approximately 20 miles from Manhattan, this upscale shopping area features more than 60 luxury and contemporary shops. Notable fashion retailers that carry children’s lines include J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren. The outlets have a Personal Shopping Suite, located within the storefront concierge, available by appointment only. The suite features an appointed reception area and lounge, and three spacious and private rooms. Shoppers can review clothing, accessories, and gift selections with expert personal shoppers.

4. Sunrise Mall

More than 165 brand-name outlets are located at this shopping center. Children’s stores include Abercrombie Kids, The Children’s Place, OshKosh B’gosh, and many outlet retailers that care adult and kids’ sizes.
