We can’t believe that we are already halfway through April! We’ve discovered four fantastic events that we think deserve mention this week. These should cure even the severest case of spring fever.

Friday, April 19-Sunday, April 21

“Wanda’s Monster The Musical”
Theater 3

Making Books Sing invites families with children between the ages of 4 and 8 to their musical production of Wanda’s Monster. When five-year-old Wanda worries that there is a monster hiding under her bed, Granny encourages her to befriend it and conquer her fear. Based on the book by Eileen Spinelli, the show features never-before-heard songs written by children’s music legend Laurie Berkner. Tickets are $15 for kids 12 and under and $20 for adults. Runs through May 12. Please note: Laurie Berkner will not be performing in the show.

Saturday, April 20

BilingualFest 2013
W83 Ministry Center
3 pm
All ages are welcome to attend the first-ever BilingualFest, a celebration of Chinese American and Hispanic American culture. The festival will include musical performances by Toni Wang, El Taller, Elena Moon Park, the Mencius Youth Orchestra and EastRiver Ensemble, and others. Plus, don’t miss a Chinese lion dance, a monkey king performance and salsa dancing from members of NYSalsababy. Net proceeds will benefit APEX-NY and the Committee of Hispanic Children and Families. Suggested ticket prices are $10 for children and $15 for adults.

Saturday, April 20-Sunday, April 21

“Goose!”

The New York Theatre Ballet presents Keith Michael’s Goose! Set to an original score by Vladimir Shinov, this ballet for children features beloved nursery rhyme characters like Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet, and Bo Peep. Tickets are $35 for children and $40 for adults.

“Adventures From Ezra Jack Keats”
TADA! Youth Theater
Various times
The stories of the iconic children’s author will come to life in Adventures from Ezra Jack Keats. The TADA! Youth Theater company, consisting entirely of actors between the ages of 8 and 18, will perform Apt. 3 and Maggie and the Pirate through May 19. Tickets start at $8.
