Oasis Day Camp at LIU Post Offers New Junior Travel Program

Children entering sixth grade can join the Junior Travel Program at Oasis Day Camp at LIU Post in Greenvale beginning this summer. Students can enjoy swim, arts and crafts, coding, athletics, and other traditional camp activities three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, in addition to twice weekly day trips on Tuesday and Thursday. Potential destinations include local theme parks, natural areas and parks, museums and cultural centers, a beach, and a baseball game. All trips will be on Long Island.

In addition to the Travel Program, Oasis at LIU Post is introducing instructional coding classes, Radio Broadcasting, and cooking courses. The coding class is an introduction to computer programming for students entering third-fifth grades. Radio Broadcasting gives kids the opportunity to DJ on the LIU Post radio channel for a few hours a day.

Children entering grades third-fifth will be working with undergrad and graduate students to give sports reports, news, and learn the ins and outs of running a radio station. The cooking class involves instructional cooking, nutrition education, and learning healthy recipes. All classes will be introduced this camp season in early summer.
