Next level Day Camp, will be introducing a boy’s camp this summer at Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, in addition to the girl’s camp at Ursuline. Each camp runs six, one-week sessions from 6/27-8/5.
Next Level Day Camp is a skills-based elective camp where campers can pick and choose different activities each day. Camp founder, Ed Metzendorf, said that last year, campers at the girl’s camp, “enjoyed the flexible options and the customized schedules and variety of different activities,” which is why he decided to launch a similar model for boys. He added “we customize campers’ schedules to meet their interests and needs, and our single-gender camps allow children to develop self-confidence, try new things and advance their skills without the fear of being judged by the opposite sex.”
Some of the activities offered are team and individual sports, STEM programs, unique electives such as DJing, rugby, team handball, CrossFit, wrestling, gaga, broadcasting, martial arts, as well as traditional camp wide activities, all of which are taught by teachers, coaches, parents, and professionals.
Of the five activities kids can participate in each day, one is a camp wide activity and the other four are set up for campers to choose from individually. Campers can choose to play only sports, or choose to take only classes, or choose a combination of both and are able to change their schedule each day.
However, Metzendorf said that on “Try It Tuesday,” “we strongly encourage the kids to try something new, so if somebody’s athletic, we encourage them to try something artsy, and vice versa. It’s a very effective away to introduce the boys to new things.”
Tuition discounts are offered with registration of three weeks or more, or when enrolling siblings at Next Level Camp for Boys and Next Level Camp for Girls. As Next Level offers many registration options including limited half day options.
