Pinot’s Palette opened this fall, offering Park Slope instructor-led painting classes for adults and children. With step-by-step guidance, everyone leaves with his or her own completed masterpiece. Of the more than-3000 available paintings in the library, about 200 of those are kid-friendly, varying in difficulty.
Everyone starts with a blank canvas and a palette of paint, and you follow the fine-artist on stage with her own easel, who is dictating detailed instructions throughout the studio on her headset and live-feed screens.
Little Brushes is the children’s program, which is the exact same concept as the regular adult classes, but tailored for kids’ abilities. Little Brushes is designed for kids ages 6 and older, but in response to demand, Park Slope Pinot’s just began classes specifically tailored for children ages 3-6.
Check the calendar for family-friendly studio sessions. Parents and kids can paint together, or parents many simply drop off their kids while they do their errands. Most paintings take 2 hours to complete. More kids classes are being added this December, especially going into winter school break. Classes are $35 per person.
In addition to birthday parties, Pinot’s Palette Park Slope can now host school class trips in addition to Girl Scout troops, having just received its vendor license from the New York Department of Education. Special educational rates are available. The studio can accommodate up to 64 people.
