Mascara Makeover

L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mascara has generated a cult-like following over the years, with loyal users swearing by the by the product’s ability to plump up even the skimpiest of lashes. Now the company has added a supper-charged Voluminous formula to its collection: new L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes. —

The mascara, which comes in Black, Blackest Black and Black Brown, employs an innovative wiping system that removes excess mascara from the brush before it even leaves the tube. The wand’s bristles instantly contain the perfect amount of mascara to evenly coat every lash without clumping. The results are defined lashes that look, well, more voluminous.

I took the mascara for a test drive for a week, swapping it with my usual two coats of Shiseido’s Perfect Mascara, and was pleasantly surprised with the results. The collagen-infused formula didn’t flake or smudge. It nicely amplified my lashes while separating each one for a truly no-clump look. The fragrance-free formula didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes and stayed put throughout the day – even after walking around in windy, cold weather.
