Campers at Kids Country Day Camp in Mount Sinai will jump into their favorite shows this summer with the 2019 theme of ‘Summer SHOWdown.’ In addition to traditional summer activities and traditions, the camp will feature eight popular shows, one for each week of the summer. Campers will take part in a children’s size American Ninja Warrior course, a week-long preparation for the finale on the camp’s very own version of America’s Got Talent (Kids Got Talent), and more from shows they love such as Double Dare, So You Think You Can Dance, Fear Factor, and The Amazing Race.
“[The programs] take what kids are doing too much of, watching television, and make them do these activities and participate in these events instead of watching them,” says Todd Shaw, the owner of Kids Country Day Camp.
Kids Country Day Camp will also be expanding upon past activities. Workshops will include a magic show with a behind the scenes look of a magician’s tips and tricks, finalizing with the camper’s own magic show at the end of the week. In addition, the camp will be celebrating summer holidays such as “Christmas in July” on July 25 and “August Fool’s Day” on Aug. 1.
The 16-year-old camp hosts an average of 300 campers each summer on their 10 acres of property in Mount Saini, providing services for kids anywhere from three to 12 years of age. The camp runs for eight weeks, but campers can choose anywhere from two to eight weeks to attend, for two to five days each week.
