Camps ‘R’ Us, a traditional summer day camp, is offering a holiday break camp in West Islip this year during the school break.
Camps ‘R’ Us boasts a wide aray of activities, including pedal go-karts, access to a fully-equipped game room, and field trips to bowling alleys.
Day camp service Camps ‘R’ Us is beginning a new holiday camp program at its West Islip location during the week of Christmas. The camp follows the company’s mission to provide safe, fun, and affordable day camp services to families in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
The holiday camp program is for children ages 3-12, or sixth grade. From 9am-5pm, children engage in a variety of activities, ranging from field trips to on-site access to arcade games, pedal go-karts, and sculpture making. As part of the holiday program, Camps ‘R’ Us will also feature EduCamp, an education component that will help campers finish assigned winter homework and prevent “learning loss” by reinforcing the subjects based on the New York state common core curriculum.
Owner and director Gary Turnier says that his day camp programs are aimed toward a “Mom who is a teacher, nurse, or lab technician and Dad who’s a cop, fireman, or landscaper” by being affordable and providing a safe, fun place for their children to stay while they are at work.
“I think it’s very important that people know [Camps ‘R’ Us] is a family business,” he says. “The parents, and especially their children, are treated as family.”
Camps ‘R’ Us is an accredited ACA and Safety 1st camp program by Markel Insurance. The holiday camp is offered at Camps ‘R’ Us’ Our Lady of Lourdes School location.
