Brainy Academy, a Montessori preschool and academic enrichment center, recently opened a Park Slope location. Brainy Academy offers a Montessori preschool, a Pre-K Alternative Program, Summer Enrichment Program, Brainy Builders with Lego Education, one-on-one tutoring, and workshops including cooking and sewing.
Children who participate in Brainy Builders learn physics and engineering skills by building with Legos.
At Brainy Academy, children have the opportunity to explore a creative path of learning using their own talents rather than a textbook. Brainy Academy, which has recently opened a second location in Park Slope, offers various programs for ages 2-12 to prepare children for the Gifted & Talented exam.
In Brainy Montessori, children ages 3-12 learn and develop early mathematic and reading skills. The Pre-K Alternative Program, which can be combined with public school pre-K, teaches children math, reading, writing, science, and Russian language skills. The Summer Enrichment Program is offered for three age groups. For ages 2 through first grade, it is a Montessori Enrichment program. For second through fourth grades, the summer program includes math and English lessons, with art, science, and Lego enrichment.
Brainy Academy offers a Lego enrichment program, Brainy Builders with Lego Education, once a week. Children learn logic skills by using Lego materials, such as building toys or robots, and will obtain early physics and engineering abilities. Brainy Academy also provides tutoring for pre-K through sixth grade for children seeking one-on-one learning and Brainy Workshops, including cooking and sewing classes.
The Park Slope center held its grand opening June 15 and 16—classes started June 17.
