As You Wish, a children’s party center in Nassau County, has moved to a new location in Merrick. Formerly based in Bellmore, the center hosted its first party in Merrick on January 5. The new venue offers a larger party space that adds an additional 1,000-square-feet, has better parking and can host up to 50 children per party.
“We personalize each party for each child and the family,” said Brooke Lodge, who co-owns the center with Kristen Robertson, both Long Islanders.
The center offers a variety of party packages with different themes for children ages 4 to 14. Food, favors and invitations are among the items included in each package. One of the more popular themes is Spa, which gives a fashion-forward flair to the party complete with manicures, pedicures, makeup application and hairstyling for each guest fashionista.
Other theme packages include Doll Spa Tea Party, Painting Party, Golden Ticket PJ (where children and Slime, for any kid who’s always wanted to learn how to make the gooey substance, step by step.
While most parties take place on site, the owners also host fundraising events in schools, private painting parties and special events for Girl Scouts troops.
As You Wish opened in Nassau in 2014. Lodge and Robertson credits the success of the business with their personal experience of being mothers of young children.
“We’re two local moms who are very in touch with what parents want when they’re looking for a birthday party space,” Lodge said.
