Advantage Camps Expands Tennis Camp Programs

Advantage Camps is expanding its summer camps to include tennis, as well as arts and crafts, other sports, and swimming—depending on which camp your child enrolls in.

Advantage Camps is expanding its tennis camps in Manhattan and the Bronx this summer. The new Advantage KAMP will be held at the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club; the new Advantage Salifu, an elite tennis camp for Junior Players, will be held at New York Tennis Club; and the Sports & Arts Camp is finding a new home at the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club.

Paul Fontana, director of the Sports and Arts Camp, is excited to see all of the program offerings for the summer. “We feel we have a great offering to the New York City community,” Fontana says. “[We’re] just really excited about having our camps filled up with enthusiastic campers.”

Advantage KAMP is a new camp at the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club. Kids ages 5-12 will play tennis and can participate in recreational swimming and rock climbing.

Advantage Salifu at NYTC will focus on teaching elite players—children who are more advanced in skill and play in tournaments. Children can enroll in full- or half-days.

The Sports and Arts Camp was previously held at SUNY Maritime in the Bronx for the past five years and will now be held at the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club. As the name of this camp suggests, kids ages 5-14 will participate in sports, such as soccer, basketball, kickball, and tennis. The arts portion will consist of workshops to make kites, shadow puppets, books, origami, and candles.

Registration is open for all camps, which all run Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm. The Sports and Arts Camp will run June 15-Aug. 21; Advantage KAMP will run June 15-Sept. 4; and the Advantage Salifu will run June 29-Aug. 21.
