"Hakanaï" at BAM
Enter a dreamlike realm of parabolas and sine waves during “Hakanaï,” a French performance piece that uses technology to create a three-dimensional cube that moves in sync with a dancer and rhythmic music. This mesmerizing production has to be seen to be believed! Plus, families will have the opportunity to enter and explore the cube themselves on Saturday (2-5pm) and Sunday (2-4pm) with a reservation. At the Kids' Table with Sarah Lohman: Chinese Food, American Story at the New-York Historical Society
Join the Kids’ Table at the New York Historical Society for a cooking class based on the Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion exhibit and cooking class with foods that Chinese immigrants introduced to their new country. Prepare the first popular Chinese take-out (chop suey) from a century-old recipe; make dumplings by hand-filling, folding, and cooking them to eat in class. The class will be led by Sarah Lohman, historical gastronomist featured on William Grimes’ show Appetite City (NYC life, channel 25). (Saturday) -
Worlds Collide Convention 2015 at the Scholastic Store
Bestselling authors will gather this Saturday at the Scholastic Store during the Worlds Collide Convention. The New Victory Theater presents "Babble" at the New 42nd Street Studios
Babies ages 4-18 months are in for a treat at the New 42nd Street Studios this week! Belfast’s Replay Theatre Company will present its 40-minute show, “Babble,” which will introduce little ones to new shapes and sounds in “the bubble,” a performance space specifically designed for this age range. The harmonies of four singers will soothe babies as fish and seascape images are projected onto the walls and ceiling. (Ongoing) -

“Camp Kappawanna,” a new children’s musical with music and lyrics co-written by Grammy-nominee Lisa Loeb, follows the camp misadventures of 12-year-old Jennifer Jenkins. Herald the coming of spring at Macy’s annual Flower Show, this year themed “Art in Bloom.” Don’t miss the ornate arrangements of flowers and greenery as the department store becomes a lush indoor garden, or the special programming which will include live music and children’s activities. An unused Williamsburg storefront is transformed into a laundromat where a diverse array of people and objects interact for the length of a cycle.
