Though it might be hard to imagine, given the snow and slush in the streets of NYC, Spring is just around the corner. And that means plenty of fresh and fashion-forward maternity looks from Destination Maternity–if you’re a mom-to-be, get ready to go on a serious shopping spree to boost your bump-wear for next season! In anticipation of next season’s sartorial wonderment, we caught up with Destination Maternity’s Style Director and super-stylish mama, Olivia Capone Myers, to get her take on the hottest upcoming trends (be sure to look at the slider below), what’s new at DM, and her tips for maintaining great personal style while expecting.

Tell us about your role as style director. What are your primary responsibilities in shaping maternity trends?

As Style Director, I share tips with expecting and new moms on everything from what to wear to what to pack in their hospital bag, primarily through our blog, Cravings, and social media. I also travel to stores to meet with clients and help them shop in store. I love being able to help moms-to-be dress the bump and not just look good but feel good, too. At Destination Maternity, we get to celebrate this special time in her life every day and that makes work exciting and meaningful for me.

How would you describe the overall “mood” of Spring 2015 maternity fashion at Destination Maternity?

Playful! Whether you opt for a bright pattern or statement tee, it’s a great time to have fun with your style while accentuating your bump.

Which new pieces from Destination Maternity should moms-to-be really be sure to take note of?

The Wendy Bellissimo Maternity Collection spring collection has great lightweight cardigans and super soft jersey tees— perfect for layering. Isabella Oliver offers the perfect side-ruched maternity dress and sophisticated maternity separates that I think are extremely versatile for Spring.

What’s a must-have maternity item that all expectant moms should have in their closets?

A great go-to pair of maternity denim featuring Destination Maternity’s patented Secret Fit Belly is a must-have for all expecting moms. You can wear them while expecting and even keep them in your rotation after the baby is born. Available in every style from skinny and boyfriend to boot-cut and cropped, a pair of maternity jeans will help you maintain your personal style while keeping you comfortable throughout your pregnancy.

What piece of advice would you give a newly pregnant woman about maternity style and staying true to one’s own fashion sense while still dressing comfortably for pregnancy?

The biggest misconception is that women need to follow a set of dos and don’ts while dressing the bump. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful!

Our campers flourish at Lee Mar due to the structured environment we provide which allows our campers to feel comfortable and secure. Careful study is made of parent input, school (IEPs), camper interview, etc., so that the interests and needs of each child can best be determined for suitable grouping prior to the camper arriving. At Lee Mar the children find comfort and friendship with children of similar age and functioning level. From this foundation we encourage our campers to embrace and learn new skills and have new experiences which they can build upon on their return home. We also focus on building friendships which last throughout the year, as well as learning how to cope with the dynamics of group situations. Development of the whole child is our goal. We work hard at improving the daily living, social, and life skills of our campers, while giving them the happiest summer of their lives!
