Editor’s Note: I know of a wonderful and particularly delicious Family Fun Day benefit coming up next Saturday, December 5, which I hope you and your family will attend.
But to tell why you should set aside some family time for it, I want to first ask you take a brief moment to consider the darkness of pediatric cancer. Now let me introduce to its opposite, a New York City mom and super-nova of light and hope, named Gretchen Witt, who has helped raised millions of dollars for leading pediatric cancer researchers, while at the same time helping countless families with emotional support and good information in their time of critical need.
I know why she does it. I don’t know how she does it. But I know we are blessed by the work of her organization, Cookies For Kids’ Cancer–and that now it’s our chance to have some fun with our children and give to the cause.
Next Saturday, Dec. 5, Cookies For Kids’ Cancer, is having its Be A Good Cookie Family Fun Day at the Metropolitan Pavilion on 123 W. 18th Street in Chelsea, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Hosted by Milkbar’s Christina Tosi, the event will feature tastings from 15 of the country’s top pastry chefs and award-winning bakers; plus live kids’ entertainment from DJ Fulano and songs for seeds, and cupcake decorating, face-painting, balloon artists and more.
