The Return Of The Sh*tty Mom

bookBursting with helpful shortcuts, clever justifications, and self-serving rationales to help you survive your calendar year (think: “Fall: ‘Braving the Bus Stop: A Field Guide for Anxious Moms'”) Sh*tty Mom for All Seasons: Half-@ssing It All Year Long is one book that we’ve been eagerly anticipating since its co-authors Alicia Ybarbo and Mary Ann Zoellner (both “TODAY” show producers) joined their real-life besties Amy Robach and Sara Haines (both of “Good Morning America”) on New York Family’s January/February 2016 Mom Squad cover (click HERE for their cover interview)!

Years ago they co-authored a more serious parenting book called TODAY’s Moms: Essentials For Surviving Baby’s First Year. Then, a few years later, they decided to have a little more fun when they released their New York Times Bestselling book Sh*tty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us, which advocated for an anti-perfectionist approach to parenting in a distinctly lighthearted way.

NYF_0116_C1In their new book, Ybarbo and Zoellner offer the perfect blend of humor and helpfulness to help readers feel like they’re not alone in their less-than-perfect parenting moments–in fact, the book truly celebrates the imperfect balance that is modern parenting and offers fortitude to help tackle the moments when it seems like the only answer is a second glass of wine!

Our campers flourish at Lee Mar due to the structured environment we provide which allows our campers to feel comfortable and secure. Careful study is made of parent input, school (IEPs), camper interview, etc., so that the interests and needs of each child can best be determined for suitable grouping prior to the camper arriving. At Lee Mar the children find comfort and friendship with children of similar age and functioning level. From this foundation we encourage our campers to embrace and learn new skills and have new experiences which they can build upon on their return home. We also focus on building friendships which last throughout the year, as well as learning how to cope with the dynamics of group situations. Development of the whole child is our goal. We work hard at improving the daily living, social, and life skills of our campers, while giving them the happiest summer of their lives!
