Just when you think Sesame Street can’t get any better…Sesame Street & Univision are launching Sesame Amigos, their first-ever Spanish language show for U.S. audiences.
Starting August 1, Spanish-speaking preschoolers will have an awesome new Saturday morning TV option: Sesame Amigos, Sesame Workshop’s very first Spanish language show for U.S. kids. All their favorite friends will be there, including Elmo, Rosita, Lola, Bert, and Ernie, at 8:30 am, during the Planeta U children’s block.
The season of 26 episodes starts off with “The Furchester Hotel,” a (of course) funny and smart segment led by Elmo and Cookie Monster. As you’d expect, the themes throughout the season will revolve around teaching life lessons, like patience and cooperation, though learning games, dancing, and singing. It’s the trademark Sesame charm and quality, turned out in ways that reflect Spanish language and culture.
