Seeing red

They put the Grimm in Grimm’s fairy tale.

From Dec. 1 through Dec. 12, St. Ann’s Warehouse in DUMBO hosts the American premiere of “The Red Shoes,” the Kneehigh Theatre’s gory re-enactment of the fairy tale about a peasant girl who falls in love with a pair of red shoes. They make her dance with delight and spin with possibilities but her love for them quickly becomes an obsession.

Surreal, sensuous, quirky and profound, this fun — but dark — cabaret will have children and adults on the edge of their seats.
