New UPK and after-school programs will be available at Renanim’s three locations in Manhattan, Riverdale, and Briarwood.
In September, Renanim Preschool and Summer Camp launched a new Universal Pre-K class as well as an after-school homework help program with licensed Department of Education teachers.
The after-school program will run from 2:20-4pm or 6pm and will provide children ages 3-7 with a great environment to do their homework. The students will be provided with snacks and will take part in exercise and movement instruction, after they finish their homework of course.
Renanim Preschool started more than 45 years ago in Israel and provides children ages 18 months to 7 years old education in an “atmosphere of happiness,” according to its website. Director Rachel Surizon and her staff work hard to ensure each child is getting the attention they deserve with the school’s unique “class inside the class” approach; teachers work in small groups of four or five children in a larger classroom setting.
According to its website, the school also emphasizes music and art in its curriculum and “strives to build confidence and self-esteem, fostering active learning through exploration and inquiry.”
In addition to its preschool and after-school programs, Renanim runs a summer camp in July and August for preschool-aged children. Children can attend full or part-time and much of the school year curriculum will be incorporated into their day, along with fun outdoor activities.
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please call to set up an appointment. Renanim is open Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm and has three locations in Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx.
