Queens County Farm Museum bursting with fun fall activities

From amazing mazes to haunted houses, the Queens County Farm Museum offers families a cornucopia of frightfully fun time now through Oct. 30:

The Amazing Maize Maze is open weekends and provides a puzzling puzzle for maze challengers who try their best to find the way out of the three-acre interactive corn maze. There is also a special Maze By Moonlight event on Oct. 14 and 21, when the maze stays open until 9 pm! Visitors will use the starry sky (or flashlights) to guide them through their adventure.

October is also Pumpkin Month at the farm, so come on down and pick a gourd that suits your fancy in the Pumpkin Patch, weekends through Oct. 29. You can wander through the patch to find your perfect pumpkin pal. (Pumpkin prices vary.)

If mazes and patches are not for you, try the Haunted House on Oct. 28 and 29. This ghoulish adventure is the perfect way to put you in the Halloween spirit. Hayrides, mulled cider, Halloween treats, and apples will be sold. This event is recommended for children ages 6 to 12. Adults will find it creepy, too!

And finally, what would October be without Halloween costumes? Celebrate with the Halloween Harvest on Oct 29. Visitors are invited to come dressed in costume, and kids can have fun in the bounce houses, play games, see who can eat the most pies in the pie-eating contests, and visit cartoon character look-alikes. Adults will boogie down to live country-western music, take an autumn hayride, visit the Haunted House, and enjoy a pony ride. Stop by the Con Edison Ecology booth for free kids’ crafts and recycling tips. There will be food vendors on the farm all day.

Visit our calendar for exact times, dates, and fees for all the October adventures at the farm.
