On The Blogroll: Baby Chenivan

The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here’s a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they’re shaping the web for parenting today.

Blogging From: Bronx, NY/Boston, MA

Baby Chenivan mom blogger Karen has one of the cutest little toddler’s roaming around and she’s not afraid to let the whole world know it. Nathan, born in 2010 is growing fast and somehow gets cuter by the minute (or by the blog post) as most of the blog is made up of little stories and adorable family photos of adventures and outings with Nathan.

Nathan and company stayed in the city for a while, but traded the skyline for the suburbs to give him more room to play and grow. Karen and her husband have documented spontaneous naps in Central Park, sheer amazement at the Museum of Natural History and Nathan’s pavement pounding city steps, even some grassy suburban steps too. It’s a delight to see Karen keep such a photographic archive of her son growing up. While it serves as a mommy blog for thousands of moms to visit and swoon over, Baby Chenivan will be a lasting testament to Nathan growing up (a gift we’re sure he will adore…eventually). There’s a fantastic mix of sweet pictures of father/son bonding and hilarious events like Nathan falling asleep with his hand in a cookie jar.

Baby Chenivan is more than pure 100% adorable factor; it’s truly heartwarming to watch how Nathan’s parents react to having such a beautiful gift in their life. They seem to inspire him to try anything and everything with a patient and loving demeanor that will certainly serve Nathan well. In a world where crazy kitten videos dominate the web, it’s great to get away from the norm and witness a genuinely precious little guy making his way in a big world with a loving family guiding the way. –Melanie Baker
