Barclays Center, which officially opens Sept. 28, will be the permanent home for the Brooklyn Nets, but, like Madison Square Garden, will also hold a bevy of other events. Some upcoming highlights:
The New York Islanders will host the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 2. The Harlem Globetrotters will appear later that week.
Those who like basketball can check out the first Nets game, Coaches vs. Cancer, the inaugural Barclays Center Classic, and the Legends Classic. Those events will be held in November.
On Nov. 18, not too long after Olympics mania, the venue will host the 2012 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions, which features top members from the U.S. gymnastics team.
The Barclays Center is also scheduled to be the home of Disney On Ice in the fall. The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus will visit in the spring.
